About
Welcome to Curry Scene, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Caernarfon, United Kingdom. Located at 23 Bangor St, this cozy restaurant specializes in authentic Indian and Bangladeshi cuisine, making it a must-visit for curry lovers.
At Curry Scene, the culinary experience is truly unparalleled. Customers rave about the superb flavors and generous portions. For instance, John Gordon, a loyal patron, shared his delight with the meat madras, labeling it "definitely the best curries in the area." Such accolades speak to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Additionally, the friendly staff enhances the dining experience, making every visit feel personal and welcoming.
The dishes here are packed with flavor. David Joyce noted the impressive spice levels in his chicken dish with keema, recommending that guests moderate their spice choices. This is a nod to the restaurant's authentic approach, ensuring every dish has its own distinct character. The Keema Naan is a highlight according to Matthew Winston, and it’s easy to see why. He describes it as the best he’s ever had, reflecting the expert crafting of each menu item.
One unique aspect of Curry Scene is its bring your own alcohol policy. As noted by numerous patrons, including Chris Rimmer, guests are encouraged to pick up drinks from the Bargain Booze next door. This unconventional approach not only fills a niche but also allows diners to tailor their meals without the constraints of a licensed setting.
While the decor might benefit from a touch-up, many find that the warmth of the staff and quality of the food easily offset this. Michael Wroe emphasizes the welcoming atmosphere, complemented by the restaurant's commitment to cooking each dish with care. Every bite is a testament to this dedication, making it a satisfying choice for an intimate dinner or a casual meal with friends.
In conclusion, whether you’re a local or just passing through, Curry Scene offers an unforgettable dining experience filled with genuine flavors and heartfelt service. If you appreciate a well-crafted curry, this is undoubtedly a place that demands your attention – it’s curry heaven right in Caernarfon!
“ Been coming here for years. The meat madras l had last week was superb. Definitely best curries in the area. Lovely staff, no alcohol and cash only. ”
“ This is a really great Bangladesh/Indian food restaurant. All our dishes were top notch but I would say a little more spicy than expected. Maybe temper (moderate) your choice of spice level. Personally, I was very impressed with my dish and enjoyed the extra heat. It was recommended it by the waiter after I asked for a chicken dish with Keema (minced lamb). It's unlicensed which works for me. There's a Bargain Booze next door. It is not posh. In fact it could benefit from a redecoration and better lighting. Again, it didn't bother me. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! ”
“ In a nutshell this restaurant cannot be flawed one bit. The food was tasty, hot, and portions were generous. The Keema Naan was the best I've had anywhere... Would highly recommend. Staff are polite, attentive and not constantly hanging over you like I've found in other restaurants. The tables are spaced nicely away from each other. As trivial as that may sound sometimes a busy restaurant ends up feeling more like a group party then a intimate dinner. The restaurant itself was clean and tidy. There is a shop next door that sells alcohol which the staff are happy to let you bring whilst eating your food. I imagine that appeals to many people! To summarise, brilliant food, lovely staff, comfortable experience and if I didn't live 5 hours away I'd definitely go again! Huge thank you to the staff and chefs It a 5 * * * * * from me! ”
“ Really tasty food, lovely team of people working here too. it’s bring your own alcohol if you want to drink we just had tap water. Would I recommend? Absolutely. ”
“ Welcoming, warm staff. Excellent Indian / Bangladeshi food. Each dish is cooked with care so that it has a distinct character of its own. So tasty. I cannot recommend this place enough. Bring your own booze as they do not have an alcohol licence. ”
“ Best food in caernarfon by far, super fresh and tasty and the guys there are super friendly. 5 stars and more ”
“ Sunday in Caernarfon. Booked ahead for mum, two boys and me. Cash only and bring your own booze. Staff brilliant and food good. Kids loved Chicken Pakora (tikka), Massala and poppadoms. Curries on the mild side, but bhaji Garlic Naan pretty brilliant. Interior is old school and tired, but clean. Stream of people picking up take aways. 6 x Poppadoms Chutney, 3 starters, x 1 soft drink, 2 curries and 4 sides 57 quid. We brought wine in. Cash machine round the corner at Home and Bargain. ”
“ We went there last night, excellent food and very polite, but have no license for alcohol, so you have to take your own drink but they do so soft drinks ”
